Jeffrey R. Holland served as president of Brigham Young University from 1980 until his call to the First Quorum of the Seventy in 1989. Prior to his tenure at Brigham Young University, he taught in the Church Educational System and served as Commissioner of Church Education from 1976 to 1980.
